Turn the cameras you already have into systems that act

Techo adds detection and automated response to your existing camera infrastructure — no new hardware, no replacement systems. Runs on-premise so footage never leaves your network, or in the cloud if you'd rather we host it.

Your cameras record. They don't tell you anything.

Footage is only useful after something has already gone wrong. By then the question isn't prevention — it's what the record shows, who was notified, and whether anyone can prove it.

01

Nobody is watching 24/7.

Cameras run continuously. Attention doesn’t. What happens between walkthroughs is only discovered when someone goes looking for it — usually after an incident.

02

An alert isn’t an action.

Detection tools that stop at a red box on a screen add another thing to monitor. If a person still has to notice it, decide what to do, tell someone, and write it up, the work hasn’t moved.

03

The record is assembled after the fact.

When an incident needs documenting for an internal review, an insurer, or a regulator, the evidence gets reconstructed from memory and scattered footage. It takes days and it’s never complete.

The infrastructure isn't the problem. Nothing is connected to a decision.

One place for every camera and every event.

Status across every connected camera, and a record of everything the system has flagged, acted on, and closed — searchable, filterable, and exportable.

Six capabilities. One engine. Your cameras.

PPE & protective equipment

Detects missing or incorrect protective equipment by zone and role. Hard hats, high-visibility clothing, eye protection, gloves. Rules are set per area, so a requirement on the floor doesn’t fire in the office.

Restricted-area violation

Flags entry into areas a person shouldn’t be in, using ground position rather than a rough bounding box, so a worker passing behind a zone doesn’t trigger a false alarm. Zones and schedules are configured per site.

People detection & occupancy

Counts and tracks people in defined areas. Useful for headcount at muster points, occupancy limits, and confirming an area is clear before an operation starts.

Licence plate recognition

Reads plates at gates and entry points. Matches against an authorized list, logs arrivals and departures, and triggers whatever should happen next.

People authorization

Verifies whether the person at a controlled point is cleared to be there, for the shift and area in question. Entries are logged with evidence.

Facial recognition

Identity verification at controlled access points, matched against an enrolled set held on the client’s own infrastructure.

Your cameras already see it. Techo makes them understand it.

Built in Canada, and it stays in Canada.

Designed for organizations that need intelligent video and operational analytics without giving up control of their data.

Canadian data residency

On-premise is the default. Video is processed on an appliance on your own network and never leaves the building unless you choose a hosted deployment — in which case it stays in a Canadian region.

Retention is set by you

You decide how long footage and event records are kept, not a default the platform picks for you.

Built for internal reporting

Designed for Canadian data residency, and produces documentation usable for internal OHS reporting.

Real problems. Measurable outcomes.

Techo is running early pilots now. Case studies publish here with real numbers once those pilots are live — nothing invented in the meantime.

Accuracy
Measured against ground truth on your own footage.
Deployment time
From cameras connected to first flagged detection.
Payback period
What the deployment cost against what it caught.

Frequently asked

Does Techo work with our existing cameras?

Yes. Techo connects to standard IP camera streams on the cameras already installed — no hardware replacement.

Do we have to replace our current recording setup?

No. Your existing recording and monitoring setup keeps running exactly as it does now — Techo reads the stream alongside it, it doesn't replace anything.

Where is our video stored?

On-premise is the default: video is processed on an appliance on your own network and never leaves the building. Choose a hosted deployment instead and it stays in a Canadian cloud region.

What happens if the internet connection drops?

Detection continues locally. Events queue on the appliance and sync once the connection is back.

What can the system detect?

PPE and safety compliance, restricted-area violations, people detection and occupancy, licence plate recognition, people authorization, and facial recognition — configured per zone and per site.

How is this different from motion alerts we already get?

Motion alerts stop at a red box on a screen. Techo's system decides whether an event is worth acting on, then routes it, logs it, and updates your system of record — without someone doing that by hand.

How do you handle worker privacy?

Processing happens on your own infrastructure by default, retention is client-controlled, and you determine what gets enrolled for identity-based capabilities. See the privacy page for the full breakdown.

How long does deployment take?

It depends on camera count and site access, not a fixed number of days — appliance install and configuration are the pacing factors, not the software.
